Receiving the letter from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry but before Harry can open the letter, Uncle Vernon notices the letter and takes it and rips it up throwing the shreads into the fire because they don’t want Harry to know he is a Wizard nor do they  want him to use magic ever, but the house is soon receiving more than plenty letters for Harry and surrounded by owls trying to give Harry his letter all the way up to Harry’s birthday. On Harry’s 11th birthday Uncle Vernon takes the family to a shabby lighthouse in the middle of nowhere hoping the letters would stop flooding in but as time drew closer to Harry’s birthday, a giant called Rubeus Hagrid appears in the lighthouse with another copy of the letter. Harry soon discovers that it is an offer of a place at Hogwarts and that he is a wizard himself. While at Hogwarts he learns about he acquired the lightning bolt scar on his forehead. That he got the scar while his parents were protecting him in the fight and that his parents were killed by the evil wizard Voldemort the person who gave him the scar. Hagrid deals with Uncle Vernon and with Dudley bullying him and soon Harry finds himself in the magical world of Hogwarts under the care of headmaster Albus Dumbledore and the whole Gryffindor house. Harry’s eventful first year at the school is filled with lots successes and failures, many friendships and enemies , lots broomstick riding Quidditch matches, and eventful lessons.
